British R&B music is a subgenre of R&B music that originated in the UK. It's a genre that has been around for decades, but it wasn't until recently that it became popular among people outside of its country of origin.

Ray BLK

Ray BLK (born Ray Wilding) is a British singer and songwriter. She has been dubbed the “British Beyoncé” by Pitchfork, and her debut album Good Thing was released in 2018.

Ray's family moved from Birmingham to Reading when she was five years old. Her father worked as a mechanic while her mother took care of the housework and children, who were often left alone while they were at school or college. The sisters' parents divorced when Ray was 12 years old; this had an impact on how they grew up as children because their parents' relationship was so unstable that neither parent wanted any more children after that point in time—which affected them deeply as adults too since they didn't know where their other half would be coming from next year or even half an hour away on holiday!

Calum Scott

Calum Scott is a British singer-songwriter and musician. He has released three EPs: "The Naked Tapes", "Only Human" and "Dancing On My Own"

Calum was born in London, England to Scottish parents. At age 10, he began writing songs for himself and his sisters that they would perform at home parties or school events. He attended St Marylebone Grammar School where he played rugby for their first team (he can now be seen playing for them).

Nao

Nao is a British singer-songwriter and record producer. She was born in London, England and her father is of French descent while her mother was half Chinese and half French.

She began singing at an early age but didn't take it seriously until she was 18 years old when she met music producer Solomon Grey who helped launch her career by producing several songs for Rihanna, Usher and Flo Rida among others.

Ella Mai is a British singer and songwriter. She is signed to DJ Mustard's label 10 Summers and released her debut EP 'Time' in 2018.

Ella Mai was nominated for the Best New Artist award at the 2019 Grammy Awards, but lost out to Kesha once again.

Anne-Marie

Anne-Marie is a British singer, songwriter and record producer. She has released two studio albums, Speak Your Mind (2018) and So Long, See You Tomorrow (2019). In 2013 she won the Brit Awards for Best British Female Solo Artist and was nominated for an MTV EMA for Best International Act.

Jax Jones

Jax Jones is a British DJ, producer and singer. He has released two albums and had a number one single in the UK. His debut album was called You Know I'm No Good and it went to number 1 on the UK Albums Chart for five weeks. The second album was called Content (featuring Mabel) which reached number 2 on the UK Albums Chart after spending its first three weeks at number 1 with You Know I'm No Good still holding strong as well as Amy Winehouse's Back To Black being re-released after reaching platinum sales over 20 years ago in 1999!

Craig David

Craig David is a British singer, songwriter, rapper and record producer. He was born in Southampton, Hampshire. His parents were Caribbean immigrants to the UK. He has released two studio albums: Born to Do It (2000) and Slicker Than Your Average (2002).

Shakka

Shakka is a British R&B singer and songwriter. He was born in London to Ghanaian parents, who moved there when he was five years old.

Shakka released his first EP, 'In the Name of Love', in 2017 and followed up with another EP titled 'Playlist' in 2018. He has also collaborated with other artists such as Kano (who is also part of their group), J Hus (who featured on their track “Ice Cream”) as well as other artists like Stormzy who featured on his track "Never Make It Home".

Becky Hill

Becky Hill is a British singer-songwriter. She was born in Luton, Bedfordshire and grew up there. In 2012, she signed to Parlophone Records as the label's latest signing. Her debut single "Painted Smile" was released on 12 June 2012 with an accompanying music video shot by director Mark Brickey for the song's official YouTube channel.[3]

Hill released her first EP album entitled First Time on 24 October 2014 through RCA Records.[4] It peaked at number 29 on the UK Albums Chart[5]. The album featured guest vocals from Example and Labrinth among others.[6][7][8]

Rita Ora

Rita Ora (born Rita Sahatçiu; 26 November 1990) is a British singer and actress. She rose to prominence in February 2012 when she featured on DJ Fresh's single "Hot Right Now", which reached number one in the UK. In January 2014, she signed a record-breaking deal with Atlantic Records worth $40 million (£30m).

In 2013, Ora ranked #96 on Forbes' list of The World's 100 Most Powerful Celebrities and in 2017 she was included at number 30 on Forbes' list of Top 50 Most Powerful Women In Business Worldwide.

Fuse ODG

Fuse ODG is a British singer and songwriter. He was born in Ghana but now lives in London, England. He has released several singles and collaborated with artists like Ed Sheeran, Drake and Wizkid.

Fuse ODG first gained recognition after winning 2014’s Soca Monarch competition in St Lucia before releasing his debut single “Love On Me” which peaked at number one on Billboard Dance Charts as well as being nominated for Best Performance at the 2015 Soul Train Awards ceremony held annually by BET Networks Inc..

Laura Mvula

Laura Mvula is a British singer-songwriter and record producer. She was born in Birmingham, England on 7 March 1987.

She is known for her soulful voice and has been nominated for a number of awards. She won the BBC Music Sound of 2012 Award, the MOBO Awards (UK) for Best Newcomer at the first MOBO Awards ceremony held in February 2006; she was also nominated for an Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically (“Ghetto Liar”).

Billie Marten

Billie Marten is a British singer. She was born in 1998 and has released one album, When We Fall, in 2019. The album was nominated for Best R&B/Soul Album at the BRIT Awards 2019.

She has also been nominated for Best British Female Solo Artist at the Brit Awards 2019, but did not win either award (she lost out to Jorja Smith).

Stefflon Don

Stefflon Don is a British singer and songwriter. She was born in Hackney, London, to Jamaican parents and raised there.

She has released four studio albums: "Catch 22" (2013), "24Hrs" (2015), "Rocket" (2018) and "Maddie" (2019). She also released two mixtapes: "#Laugh Now Cry Later", which was released in 2012; and "#Espoir", which came out in 2015.

Stefflon Don has collaborated with artists like French Montana, Drake and Giggs on their songs.
